Hello Simmers!

I am so excited to be able to finally talk about the upcoming venue, The Prism Art Studio!

It’s hard keeping secrets from you guys, especially when we know you are all are going to flip when I tell you the exciting new features!

Future Homes and Neighborhoods

Now that your Sim has a steady income, or maybe been a little lucky and won big with the lottery , they should consider making a permanent stake in Oasis Landing by buying a future home. There are a few different locations in town to live each with their own personality.

Each time The Sims 3 design team sits down to discuss the next expansion pack or piece of store content,  we often start by talking about what parts of the game could be better. What worked and what didn't work in previous content? What would we like to do differently if given the chance? With Into the Future, we discussed how well the Visa Points system from World Adventures worked in context with that expansion pack's content and then talked about how Terms worked with University Life.

SimGuruTaterTot: I always love it when Designer Alan Copeland write blogs for the exciting store releases, but I think he might have outdone himself this week. We've teased this all last week, revealed a killer sneak peek, and I know you are all DYING for more (pun intended). See for yourself! This Thursday will be full of tricks and treats! Available on The Sims 3 Store October 17th!

What is Omega? Well, as a gameplay scripter working on the brand new SimCity Cities of Tomorrow expansion pack, I can tell you: I haven’t got a clue.

I do know that this mysterious, state-of-the-art, super-strong, super-conducting, lightweight, fruit-flavored, and all-around amazing substance is somehow created by combining tons of Oil and Ore in a very secretive, elaborate, and sometimes smelly process. I also know that Sims of the future will be chomping at the bit to get their hands on it, and that’s where OmegaCo comes in.

I was always a fan of steampunk - even before I knew what steampunk was. I was more or less raised on fantasy and science fiction. In our house was a copy of The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction, a massive book that included time lines, major authors, novels, pulp fiction, TV series and films, etc. I was from here that I noticed that the natural progression of science fiction seemed to start with steampunk and the time it seems wedded to -- the Victorian era.

Not all the Sims in Midnight Hollow are eccentric. The Doe family appears to be the epitomy of normal, but then again appearances can be deceiving right? Producer Lisa Smith does not seem to be fooled by their perfect appearance. Learn more about The Sims 3 Midnight Hollow, available Thursday, September 26th on The Sims 3 Store!

Did you spot these two Sims in The Sims 3 Midnight Hollow Trailer? Get to know them a bit more in this interview! Only The Sims 3 Midnight Hollow comes packed with exclusive Sims!

Sul sul!

The thing I love the most about The Sims 3 Into the Future is that you can leave your mark on the future whether it is on a personal level or a grander scale. From influencing your family’s future lineage to manipulating the threads of time to create a happier or dirtier Oasis Landing, there are various ways for your Sim to have an impact. While experimenting with these changes, be sure to check out the Almanac of Time as it is a handy guide to all the impacts you can have on the future!

Designer Alan Copeland has really outdone himself with Midnight Hollow! In this in-depth review of The Golden Ticket Toy Shop Venue, available exclusively in The Sims 3 Midnight Hollow Gold Edition, you'll find out exactly what makes this a one-of-a-kind venue!

Hey Simmers!

Today I’m happy to be able to share more info on one of my absolute favorite parts of The Sims 3 Into the Future – Plumbots! From the very beginning of this pack, we set out to make Plumbots feel like a natural evolution of everything fans loved about bots from older Sims games, just bigger, better, more customizable, and more durable. We had so much fun acting out bot animations and telling crazy bot stories. Here are a few fun facts to get you ready to play with the future and Plumbots!

We bounce around a ton of ideas around here for expansion packs, but I can think of very few that generated the amount of excitement as the idea for time travel. When I say “time travel,” I’m not just talking about new technology and a new way of life in a futuristic setting—though that’s a big part of it—but also about giving you the ability to travel to the future and back again, with your actions in the present having repercussions in the future.

Hi Simmers! SimGuruSarah here to tell you a little bit about our newest Stuff Pack: The Sims 3 Movie Stuff! This pack features dozens of objects and clothing inspired by three classic movie genres – Western, Horror and Heroes & Villains.

Check out what Designer Alan Copeland has to say about the new venue, Business as Usual Bistro, he created for The Sims 3!  The Business as Usual Bistro will be available on The Sims 3 Store July 18th.

Design is a lot like shopping on a budget.  You only get so many days of development in each department –Art, Audio, Engineering, etc. – to make something really special.  Having a Non Player Character (or NPC for short) work on a Store item was always something that was too big for that budget… until now.

Wow! Can you believe The Sims 3 Island Paradise launch day is finally here!? What an adventure this project has been! In fact, it’s been exactly one year since the very first meeting we had to figure out the theme for the 10th expansion pack for The Sims 3 . And, despite it being the 10th in a long line of great The Sims 3 titles, I’ve never been more excited for the launch of any game I’ve ever worked on! The Sims 3 Island Paradise is a huge expansion pack that adds major features for everyone – regardless of how you play The Sims .

Check out what SimGuruCopeland has to say about building the Skylight Studio for Performing Arts! This all-new venue will be available on The Sims 3 Store on June 20, 2013. Don't forget to follow SimGuruCopeland on Twitter for more witty comments about the things he's building for The Sims 3.
